Borgo di Sogna

Outdoor Gallery

Sogna shyline. An old picture taken after the restoration… … The castle wall built by Ubertini family in the 11th century I carved the pool amongst the stones of the olive terraces… Not to be seen (unless from a drone…). A corner of piece and quiet, immersed in Nature and history The Hamlet Church. The first chapel was built in the 12th century; then enlarged in the 17th century … Its bells and the Gothic original small passage behind the chapel… One the many tiny passages between the houses… Under the stone pathes… Kilometres of pipee and wiring… … Walking up to the church and castle walls… The rectory, which was my studio for almost 20 years A leap into the deep green… … A very materic construction, where the brick additions / repairs tell the stories of the hamlet along the years… … Stones, stones, stones… The Gothic passage… The small piazzetta in the lower part of the hamlet … Climbing the original stairs carved into the stone … Iconic Tuscany… … The amazing skills of those masons… One of the hamlet bread oven It has been appearing like this for hundreds of years… We haven’t made any (visible) change…, but contemporary needs have all been met (hidden here and there) … If you cast your eyes…, you can see the pool there…
